•To facilitate problem solving

•To increase self-esteem

•To build assets

Teach “inside” and “outside” compliments.

•We talk about what someone IS or DOES, not what they look like.

We recognize improvement, we celebrate progress

Teach the appropriate response to a compliment.

• This seems so simple, but I see children shrugging or saying, “Okay” when they receive a compliment.
