What Makes Me Happy?

,

I have been working on being more positive in my thoughts and actions. It’s odd that I use the word “working.” Sometimes my thoughts go to the dark side so it does require effort on my part to shift to a better way of looking at things. Susan David said, “Don’t believe everything you think.” Great advice. So how am I doing with my new mindshift?

Today I woke up and was grateful for sunshine out my bedroom window. I began the day with a heart of thankfulness for the gift of waking up. If you have ever struggled to breathe, you know the ability to take a breath is something to be grateful for. I learned yesterday that I have been gifted a mandella from a talented artist. It Is a tribute to Ukraine and done in the colors of their flag. To me it represents hope.

My grandchildren are a source of happiness and hope for the future. Each with their own personality and gifts. Time spent with them is filled with love and joy. When I think of them it never fails to make me smile. I surround myself with their images. The coolest gift to give a grandmother is a Photospring. No, I am not selling them, but I believe it is a source of happiness to see memories of the grandkids growing up. The memories are a beautiful reminder of events and moments in time that are cherished.

Living by the ocean makes me happy. I can hear seals barking and the waves crashing. The pier is close by. I hear a morning dove on the telephone line near my deck. It is a source of happiness in a world that gets too noisy sometimes.

When the “work” become difficult, I will remember these things and how grateful I am to look at what makes me happy.
